About

About this small seva

Namaskar 🙏 I am Saurabh Satyaram, an ordinary bhakt of Hanuman ji from Jaipur, not a pandit and not a scholar. For years the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ashtak has been part of my daily paath, and many times when things were difficult, sitting with these eight verses is what held me steady. That is the whole reason this website exists.

When I looked online, the Ashtak was there but often on cluttered pages, full of pop-ups, sometimes with the text not even correct. I wanted one clean place where a person can read the paath, understand its meaning, listen, and take a PDF, without any noise. So I made it, slowly, as a small seva.

About the text

The verses are the Ashtak of Goswami Tulsidas, which is very old and freely available. I check the Hindi against the Gita Press, Gorakhpur book भक्तराज हनुमान (Bhaktaraj Hanuman, book no. 185, edited by Hanuman Prasad Poddar). The Hanuman Ashtak on this site matches its pages 59 and 60 word for word. The meanings and all the writing on the site are my own, in simple words. If you ever spot a mistake, please tell me on the contact page, I will be thankful and I will fix it.

How it grew

It started with just the Ashtak, the Hindi text and an audio. Then people wrote asking for a PDF they could print, then for the meaning, then for the Chalisa and Bajrang Baan they read along with it, and later for the Ashtak in Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu and other scripts. Most pages here exist because someone asked.

I am comfortable in Hindi and English, and can read some Gujarati and Bengali. For the other scripts the letters are changed carefully from the Gita Press Hindi text. If you read one of them and spot a mistake, please tell me, it helps everyone who reads after you.

My other seva: the Hanuman Chalisa site

Because so many people asked for the Chalisa in their own language, I keep a separate site only for it: hanumanchalisapdf.in. It has the Hanuman Chalisa in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam and Tamil, with meanings and PDFs. This site stays focused on the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Ashtak and the other paaths.

Where I go for darshan

In Jaipur I go for darshan at the Shri Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir at Bandh ki Ghati. It carries the same name, Sankat Mochan, that the Ashtak repeats after every verse.

That is all. May Bajrang Bali keep his hand on you and your family. Jai Shree Ram.
